The William Farquhar Collection comprises 477 water-colour drawings commissioned by William Farquhar, the first Resident and Commandant of Singapore from 1819 to 1823. These natural history drawings depict the flora and fauna of the Malay Peninsula, and were most likely accomplished by local Chinese artists.
