The National Museum of Singapore capsule was created by CLiZ for SG60, Singapore’s 60th year of independence. Each design draws on the museum’s collection, bringing pieces of the nation’s history into everyday life. William Farquhar takes its flora and fauna from the 477 natural history watercolors commissioned by Singapore’s first Resident in the early 19th century. Hondius Cartography, 1636 is based on Henricus Hondius’ hand-colored map of Southeast Asia, charting the reach of the Dutch East India Company. Fabrics of Society pieces together kaleidoscopic motifs from traditional garments in the National Collection, like the interwoven fabric of Singapore’s society. Each bottle is double-wall vacuum insulated, holds 450 ml and makes a meaningful SG60 gift.
